Lieutenant General Kadri Kastrati
Lieutenant General Kadri Kastrati, was born on March 15, 1960 in village Velikorekë (now Katunishtë), Municipality of Podujeva. He has completed Elementary School in his birthplace, while the Military Secondary School in Split, Republic of Croatia, in the year of 1981. Faculty of National General's Defence has completed in the year of 1987 in Sarajevo, Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the year of 2012, he graduated and received the title of Master (MA) in the field of security, namely on "Disaster Management in the Republic of Kosovo and the region."
Lieutenant General Kadri KASTRATI is careers officer and has worked at different duties. In the years of 1998 - 1999, during the war, he has been the Deputy Commander of the Llapi Operational Zone. In the year of 1999, he was appointed Head of the Department of Logistics at Headquarters to the Kosovo Protection Corps (KPC). This duty had been carried out until the year of 2002, when he was appointed Commander of 4th Zone in Mitrovica as well. From 2004 until 2006, he carried out the duty of the Chief of Operations and Training Department in KPC. In the following two years, exactly 2006 - 2008, he has carried out the duty of Special Adviser to the KPCs Coordinator.
Upon the establishment of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) in 2009, he was appointed as Director of Operations (DO) in KSF. While, on 22 November 2011, by decision of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, he was appointed the Commander of the KSF. Finally, on January 23, 2012, he promoted (advanced) to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Lieutenant General Kadri Kastrati has participated in many seminars and trainings in the field of security and defense, among which are: training shaft theme Globalization and security for the future as well as Building of the security institutions in post-conflict countries, Marshall Center, Republic of Germany (European Center for Security Studies). Albanian Diplomatic Academy, Tirana, in the area of Safety Management in diplomaci, Legal aspect in the fight against terrorism and Fighting of terrorism and challenges in Eastern Europe. Furthermore, he has attended and completed education (schooling) for the European Integration in Pristina.
Lieutenant General Kadri Kastrati in July 2012 was given gratitude, one of the highest awards to the Slovenian state, Medal for international cooperation of the first grade, by the Minister of Defense to Slovenia.
Lieutenant General Kadri Kastrati is married and has 2 children. He speaks English, and Serbo-Croatian. His hobbies are swimming and skiing.
